Lead Teaching Pastor
Pastor James, the Lead Teaching Pastor of First Baptist Church. Pastor James has a unique background as a converted atheist who became a believer while studying at a secular university. His passion for serving others and sharing the love of Christ led him to move to North Carolina to work with the homeless and serve people in the inner city. During this time, God burdened his heart for people near where he grew up, and he came on staff at FBC in July 2016 to serve as our Lead Teaching Pastor.
Pastor James brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our church community, and his dynamic teaching style reflects his deep commitment to the gospel of Christ. He is passionate about equipping believers to live out their faith in practical ways, and he has a heart for seeing people grow in their relationship with God.
Pastor James is married to his wife Susanna, and they have five boys: Titus, Timothy, Tatum, Toby, and Theo. His love for his family and his community is reflected in the way he serves and leads at FBC. We are grateful to have him as our Lead Teaching Pastor and look forward to seeing how God will continue to use him to impact lives for Christ
Laurie Campau - Worship Leader
Laurie Campau, the Worship Leader of First Baptist Church. Laurie has been leading worship at FBC since 2016 and has been a blessing to our church community. Her passion for leading others in worship is evident in the way she leads the worship ministry and the worship team at FBC.
Laurie and her husband Brent have been married for 12 years and are blessed with five children: Noel, Annaleise, Lincoln, Aksel, and Krew. Her love for her family and her love for Christ are reflected in the way she lives and serves at FBC.
As the Worship Leader, Laurie is committed to creating an environment where people can encounter Christ through worship. Her heart for leading others in worship is contagious, and she is passionate about equipping and encouraging others to use their gifts to glorify God.
We are grateful to have Laurie as our Worship Leader at FBC and look forward to seeing how God will continue to use her to lead others in worship and point people to Him
Families Pastor
Pastor Cody, the Families Pastor of First Baptist Church. Pastor Cody's journey with Christ began at the age of 16 when he realized that he had been placing his trust in his morals instead of in Jesus. A year later, he surrendered his life to Gospel ministry, burdened with a heart for teenagers. His passion for youth ministry led him to pursue a B.A. in Youth Ministry, and he joined the staff of FBC in July 2017 as the Families Pastor.
As the Families Pastor, Pastor Cody is committed to helping families grow in their faith and relationships with each other. He is passionate about creating an environment where children and youth can encounter Christ and grow in their love for Him. His heart for serving families is reflected in the way he leads and serves in our church community.
Pastor Cody is married to his wife Alyssa, and they have three girls: Audrey, Avery, and Addison. His love for his family and his desire to see families grow in their love for Christ is evident in the way he lives and leads. We are grateful to have him as our Families Pastor and look forward to seeing how God will continue to use him to impact families for Christ.
